- Contractors are experts in their industry. They are guns for hire that are brought in for their specific expertise.
- Contractors openly market their services. They are free to work for others.
- Contractors are brought in for a specific project for a set period of time.
- Contractors submit their own invoices.
- Contractors determine when they work and the hours they work.
- Contractors determine how they work. They can determine how they will perform their service.
- Contractors are responsible for their own taxes. An employee will have taxes deducted from their paychecks.
- Contractors are not eligible for company benefits like sick leave or vacation leave
- Contractors can subcontract or delegate work to others.
